This introductory course will assist participants in being able to identify potential funding sources for their organizations and to grasp an understanding of the basic components of effective grant writing.

Nonprofit organizations should have thoughtful, intentional systems for general communications, marketing and media relations in order to promote and advance mission achievement. Internal communications help to motivate, inform, and counsel employees and volunteers of nonprofits and to set the stage for external communications. External communication helps to attract and retain constituents and to raise public consciousness, understanding and commitment to the organization. Working with the media is a necessary part of effectively communicating an organization’s mission to the general public, donors, volunteers and policymakers. This session with explore internal and external communications, storytelling, social media and media relations.

Day After Census Day – What’s Next? - WEBINAR

Strengthening Michigan Through Giving & Volunteering

Join us for a press conference at the State Capitol building rotunda. This will include the release of the new Michigan Giving & Volunteering study results and the presentation of the Michigan Volunteer Champion Awards to key legislative and/or executive officials.
The press conference will be followed by lunch for legislators, staff, and participants in the 1st floor west wing of the Capitol building. Meetings between participants and legislators will follow in the afternoon.
This event is free to attend and we will provide assistance in scheduling appointments with your legislator(s).
